Unhappy The Old SR-1 DATA1.MSI Issue

I am trying to load an ACM software (AT&T Communciations) for an air card..........on Windows XP Pro............it downloads fine...but can't install properly due to the agae old issue of "can't find the DATA1.MSI file".......

since my Office program was loaded by Dell......I don't have the CDs...now what? EVERY time I try something, it asks for the CDs...........or $$$$ to BUY what I should be able to get for FREE.......until I get the aircard installed...I am on DIAL-UP......and 15 hours of download time from MICROSOFT......tried it but got to 88% and crashed......

HELP !!

In any event, buying Office won't help as 'data1.msi' is only found in Office 2000 and that's no longer available. If Office wasn't installed at all you wouldn't have the problem, otherwise everyone who bought an aircard would need to also own Microsoft Office 2000, which is plainly ludicrous.

I can't see any way out of this dilemma other than uninstalling Office, or buying a different brand of network card.
