Audio Device Problems

I recently bought a new computer. I was using a USB headset until recently when I bought a new one, which was not USB, so obviously I had to update my drivers. I had problems so I emailed realtek, and asked them for an updated driver, and they said unistall the perevious one I had on my comp but I somehow took realtek audio controller completely off my computer. I restored my computer to an earlier date in hopes of being on my computer, but it was not there, no audio controller, nothing. I was wondering if there was any way to download the audio controller and the drivers I need.

Windows XP Pro
Version 2002
Service Pack 3, v.5657

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual
Core Processor 5200+
2.71 GHz

Motherboard -
Asrock ALIVENF6P-VSTA MB

You cannot download an audio controller since it's a piece of hardware.
The controller still exists inside your computer, but since it no longer has it's driver installed Windows does not know what it is -- it's just an "unknown device" (yellow question mark in Device Manager).

Install the Realtek driver and Device Manager should list it by it's proper name again.

The latest Realtek High Definition sound driver for the ASROCK 'ALIVE' series of motherboards is here (for Windows XP):

Realtek HD needs the M$ UAA to be installed, this may not be included in the ASRock file get the driver here from Realtek
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...Audio%20Codecs

Click I Accept – wait for site to reload – click Next

Download the (Executable) file – save to desktop – double click downloaded file and follow installation instructions.

Set a System Restore Point before installing just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore – click radio button Create a restore point and follow instructions
