another STOP c0000221 from Auto Update???
Mother in law calls yesterday, and tells me her computer did an auto update, reset, and went to blue screen! "STOP C0000221 (Bad Image Checksum) The image URL.dll is possibly corrupt. The header checksum does not match the computed checksum".
Great!!!!
I googled, naturally, but only found similar problems from installing 3rd party software, or HD's. Nothing from Auto updates.
She couldnt find her XP cd, So I used mine (old XP SP1...that was fun)
Booted recovery console, and started trying all the tips and tricks I could find, to no avail.
Finally...I decided to delete the URL.DLL file all together from c:\windows\system32 and did a reboot to "last known good configuration"
It worked. Just posting this to help any others who encounter what I did last night. (2/11/09) from an auto update.
