remote desktop sessions.

Does anyone know how to control which session a remote desktop connection will go into. I have a windows 2003 server running and when I remote desktop into that it will start a new session. Now when I log into my laptop xp pro machine via remote desktop, it will bump off the local user and continue that session on the remote computer. But If i remote desktop into my xp pro home computer it will create a new session. anyone know how it works to set it up so a new session will not be created.
