Re-installed Windows XP Home Edition Drivers lost

hi, just wondering if anyone can help me. I reinstalled windows xp on my computer because it was turned off when defragmenting now I can't find ethernet driver or audio driver . When I use CD that came w/computer (Dell Dimension 4400) it doesn't find the software for the driver. So I can't connect to the internet. I don't have any sound either. Not sure what happened............ What can I do to install a driver for the ethernet and sound?
