lost administrator password help

hello all
i had a computer tower givin to me by a good friend after thay bought a brand new one and thay cant remember the adminstrator password to get in to it so is there any were i can get a free tool to eather let me get the password or maybe change it plus if there is is it hard to use and the computer has windows xp pro copy wright 1985-2001 on it
