Network issues

Hello all,

I have two machines behind a D-link router. One is an XP Home machine (server) and the other is an XP Pro machine that are to be networked for purposes of file and print sharing.

I have been able to network these two computers in the past. However, while I can access the share folders from my XP pro machine, when I attempt to open the files remotely, I receive an access denied message.

The only workaround so far is to login to the home machine and create a copy of the file, which I can then access remotely.

So, any ideas. Why can I access only certain files remotely in the same share folder as files that I am being denied access to?

Hi, on the XP home machine right click on the folder you want to share>properties>security>add>put your name in there that is on the Pro machine and give it full control.
If you donot see the name you use you will need to add it through control panel>users.
