This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer.

I'm trying to clear my computer to of all the junk and this is what it's popping up saying.

This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator.

I am the system administrator, however, if I log on in Safe Mode there is another Administrator called Administrator. This doesn't show up when I log on normally.

I have tried a few things suggested on a old thread here but cant seem to get it to work.

Help would be much appreciated.

Hi, yes you have a hidden Admin account which is normal. When in safe mode create a new admin account and give it another name like "fred" then log in normally to windows under the fred account and see if it work correctly. If so recreate your own account again using safe mode.

Thanks for the reply. I tried this but I am still getting this message when I clock on tool and Internet Options.

I am not sure if it has something to do with the registry. When it comes to that I am not certain and don't want to play about with it unless someone can talk me through it.

Thanks
