Save behaviour IE

I changed somehow the default behaviour when clicking a link with a downloadable file. Until some days ago the behaviour was simular as right clicking and selecting "save as ...".

I can not select anymore where I can save my file and it download immediatly to the temp IE directory .

Shure it is a setting somewhere but where?

Man, I've been looking but I can't find the setting you must have changed... Sorry. I've only has XP for a week or so though, so hopefully one of the regulars can answer it- I'll keep looking though!

I found it myself and want to share this. Actually it is easy. What I did not notice in the beginning was, that it only applied to ZIP files. To solve it in the Explorer go to Tools-Folder Options-File Types. Look for the extension of the file type to change (in this case ZIP) and click Advanced. Check "Confirm open after download" and it is back to the old. Why this option is called "after download" and not "before download" is a riddle.
