Question FDISK on pre-installed Windows machine?

I'm about to buy a new or refurbished computer. I expect it will have XP or Vista pre-installed and no installation discs. I shall want to partition the HD. I am used to Win98SE, partitioning with Fdisk and then a clean install from CD. How can I partition the HD with Windows pre-installed without getting third party software?

Hi, using XP and Visa should be the same. The OS needs a certain size so you will not be able to make the partition larger than what windows sets.
