OK. I got a problem with my computer that I have had ever since I've built it. I have decent experience with fixing and building computers, but I am not sure how to read Hijack logs. It is something there, or I might have some bad ram. but here is my log so you can look at it.

Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2

I do not think I am infected, but I used new parts to build my computer rather than the ram. So if I can't find a solution to this, then I will have to pay about $40+ to get decent ram to replace. If you have any recommendations for cleaners FOR FREE, Then I will try it. But I have done full registry scans, boot scans, malware scans, spybot scans, virus scans, and a few others. Everything is also up to date. So does anyone think I need new ram? (my last possible choice to go to)

Hi, so are you saying your PC is running slow? What are your PC specs?

When you say it crashes do you mean the program will close or does it completly lockup?

First yes it could be ram. Download memtest and burn this as an iso to test ram.

Is there any event logs that may tell what has gone wrong, read this article on how to use event logs (post any related issues. http://www.eventid.net/show.asp?DocId=37
See if your system is over heating download SIW and go to sensors post the results. http://www.gtopala.com/siw-download.html
Update video driver http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_175.19_whql.html
Do you have the XP cd? If so place the cd in the drive>open a command prompt and type:
sfc /scannow
Update directx http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

It rarely locks up (not problem), It always just closes the program like one second I am playing, the next, I am looking at my desktop. I can't find out how to use the memtest. So if you could help me that would be nice. I already had my graphics driver to the newest driver. I knew my DirectX was already updated but I updated anyways. And the last thing I got to say, is that the event viewer isn't free, so if you know another one I can use, then post it. And I have already burned the memtest from the .rar file and it boots fine I just do not how to use the program.

I prefer Everest Home Edition for things like sensors. Here are my temperatures. And also, a while back I had issue with my processor. it had thermal gel burnt off and when my bro (he is a know it all) took it out with out me knowing and trying to fix, I later came to fix it, and the processor wasn't properly fitted in the slot, and was stuck to the fan, and it bent every single pin. I took good care of it and after 3-4 hours of putting each pin into place with tweezers, none of the pins broke and it worked fine. but that was months ago, and this problem even was happening way before this. So I also tried the video driver u gave link to and my graphics screwed up horribly, so I rolled back I am fine now.

Sensor Properties
Sensor Type ITE IT8705F, National LM63 (ISA 290h, SMBus 4Ch)

Temperatures
Motherboard 35 °C (95 °F)
CPU 31 °C (88 °F)
Aux 34 °C (93 °F)
MAXTOR STM3160812A 37 °C (99 °F)
Seagate ST3320613AS 36 °C (97 °F)

Voltage Values
CPU Core 1.49 V
+2.5 V 3.28 V
+3.3 V 3.04 V
+5 V 5.05 V
+12 V 11.78 V
+5 V Standby 2.28 V
Debug Info F FF FF FF
Debug Info T 34 128 22
Debug Info V 5D CD BE BC B8 69 53 (F7)

And like I said earlier in starting post, I do have DECENT experience in computers, it is nothing with temperatures. It is a software error somewhere or my ram. But I need to find out where. Post another event viewer site or tell me how differently and I will try it. I am almost advanced in hardware. All I need to work on is software issues. But thank you for your help so far. You eliminated some possibilities. And I still need help with the memtest (it's in the post above this explaining).

And as you read in the system specifications with my drivers, everything is up to date. I have all drivers updated. There is a hidden file messing up comp, or bad ram. I just need help deciding.

Hi, in the bios set the cd rom as the boot device place memtest in the cd rom and restart the PC. This will load memtest this can take a while to run through.
If it passes memtest you can nearly rule out a memory issue. Did you run the command SFC?
Run check disk at a command prompt. chkdsk /f
Last test, download Malwarebytes, update and run a full scan.
http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebyte...=dl&tag=button

If you find that all the above help does not work the last thing you can try is ccleaner (create a system restore point before downloading)
http://www.ccleaner.com/
If it was me then if none of this works I would format the hard drive.

OK. I have already said that I am sure that there is no computer virus. Even before you started to help me, I've had Malware Bytes installed and scanned on my comp. I asked for help on the memtest Cd because once it boots up on my comp, I do not know the command to go to next step. First of all what is ccleaner. I need to know what it does since you said "Create a system restore point before downloading." And last of all, this problem has happened already even when my comp was built. I've already reformatted my hard drive one or two times because of this. I want to get it fixed soon tho.

Ccleaner goes through the registry and cleans out unwanted entries. If this issue was happening even after a clean install of Xp we can rule that out.
Memtest needs to strart from the post boot of your computer, just like Xp would start if you where doing a clean install as long as it is burnt as an image file it will auto run and tests your memory. So just boot the PC from the disk.

Uh. When I boot from CD... Like I said, when it boots up, it shows four commands. It does not pull up the image file like the picture on the main website. I am not sure what command to do tho. It has the same screen as when you boot up. (Black background, white text). And it is a command prompt.
