System freeze or even crash when larg file is selected in windows explorer

Somethimes when i select a large file (exe files) my system freezes and even completly crashes. Some times just entering the directory where they are stored causes the same effect, and i have to go to the command prompt to get rid of them.

What is your Page File (Virtual Memory - Swap File - Scratch Disk) set at?

Before going to one of these troublesome directories / files open Task Manager ...

Right Click your Taskbar > Task Manager > Performance

Check the CPU Usage and PF Usage when you try to open one of the troublesome directories / files and report back the before and during values.
