Unhappy No Audio

I have a custom made Intel Celeron 1.7 GHz(845GMax series) and I lost the sound. I had RegTool go through the computer and they couldn't find the problem. I went into Hidden Devices as advised by someone on the computer and found PPSCAN has a yellow bar next to it. I don't know what that means but was told that nothing should be highlighted. I am running Norton AntiVirus and Trend Micro Spyware.Yesterday I was printing out a card and all of a sudden it said Printing Started and Printing Ended. I thought this was fixed but the computer still doesn't have sound anywhere else. I went into Audio and it has Automatic on it but the stop is on for some reason and I can't click on Start. I am really frustrated. REGTool had me doing many thing. They had be go to highjackthis and delete some things but that didn't help.
Really would appreciate your help.
Thanks

I appreciate your reply but what do I do when I get there. I wish I was a computer genius but unfortunately I'm not. I just heard from RegTool and they are refunding my money because they can't help me.

Peckerwood, Again I appreciate your help but what am I uploading. I uninstalled AC97 in Audio and booted up my computer. It found it but still have no sound. I have about 8 things listed under audio,Audio codecs,AvanceAC97Audio, LegacyAudio Drivers,LegacyVideoCaptureDevices,MediaControlDevi ces,StandardGamePort,UnimodemHalfDuplexAudioDriver ,VideoCodecs. I clicked on all of them and it says they are all working yet it still says No Audio Device in Sounds in the control panel.
Thanks for your help. I am really trying to understand.
