moving harddrive to another system

Here's the problem:

Installing win98 kept giving me the corrupt .cab file error. So I removed the hard drive to be installed in another computer. After installation and upgrading to winxp, I removed it back to the original system. But it won't boot to windows. It stops/freezes after you select the options: safe mode; last good mode; normal mode; etc. Is there an incompatibility somewhere in this system? Does it not recognize the new board and system? I thought it would just update the drivers, etc. Many thanks.

make sure your bios registers the drive and a format may be in order especially if your using XP under the NTFS file structure. but the important thing is your drive being recognised by your bios. see if it does then format it. your troubles should then go away. hope this helps. laterz
