Hi
First piece of free advice GET RID OF BLOATMAIL (if you can)
This seems to be happening more and more with the later 'fixes' for browsers
One problem is the FILE ASSOCIATIONS have been trashed
fire up Windows Explorer (not Outlook Explorer) select TOOLS > FOLDER OPTIONS > FILE TYPES and look at
.htm
.html
.shtml
and see what program they are associated with...should be YOUR BROWSER and if they aren't then make them IE as a start
now try it after reloading IE and BloatMail
If..however you have recently tried something like Google CHrome and then removed it most likely it has not cleaned up after itself
This needs a REGISTRY CHANGE which you should NOT attempt unless you (a) BACKUP YOUR REGISTRY FIRST and (b) are comfortable doing open heart surgery on such a fragile beast as XP
The Google (Chrome) site has heaps of suggestions on EXACTLY what to do to fix that particular problem
If you have chosen the path of IE8 then I doubt even Billy Gates can untangle it.....dump it and go back to IE7 and see if that helps
Good Luck
Baudy!
PS..there are probably another 6 million reasons why this happens so keep looking
