No sound card detected

I had sound but now it is gone. In device manager there is a large yellow question mark and when starting media player I get error message for no sound device. I have been working on this for 6 months and I have tried many things suggested on other threads but decided to get direct help using my own details. Here is the information I got from Belarc Advisor (cut and pasted).
