Thanks - I appreciate your input. Trying to narrow down the criteria (there are 10 video drivers, for example) but am not sure how! Any thoughts?

I'm having close to the same problem and have been for three days. After reformatting and getting XP back on my Computer, I have no sound. I've researched and researched to no avail and found no suitable or compatible drivers for my Computer. I don't know exactly what is going on, but ever since I reformatted, I've had no sound.
I really don't know how to post up a status scan like everyone else to make this any less vague for people. So: Any assistance?
Side note; I'm using a Laptop, not a Desktop, so that probably cuts downa few solutions.

In Device Manager? The driver you need is right at the bottom of that link I posted. It should say "Intel Driver"

lets have a look at what you have, MPC have gone out of business, Get Everest / copy and paste the Computer – Summary section. Leave out the Debug –PCI section.

A swifter reply would be greatly appreciated. I'm normally a patient person, but waiting days for one reply isn't exactly my dream. So is there anyone else that can pick off from here, or am I stuck?

IF you want help. Then you wait, not everybody knows everything. Besides, people work and have other things to do, and won't sit on their PC waiting for people to have various and on going issues!
