Angry busy CPU when deleting a file

Hi
on one of my PCs I have the problem, that when deleting a file, the CPU starts a crazy activity. One hears the disk humming and has to wait 30 to 60 or even more seconds for the simple task to finish. Any idea what this could be and how to fix it?
Thanks for help and best regards Robert

You could have a lot of processors or files running in the back ground, and of course your computer has to fight past them to get to the file you want to delete.

Check what you have running, by pressing Control, alt and delete for task manager and click on processors.
