Install English XP Pro over french XP Home?

I am running a PC which has a French version of XP Home installed. Many of my programmes however are English (my native language), so I have a mix which is not very convenient and can be downright confusing!

I have a (Legal) disk of XP Pro (English) and wonder if I can simply install OVER the French version?

I rather suspect the answer will be no, and if that be the case, will probably format the disk - a Samsung SP2400C - and install a fresh version of the English OS.
One thought however - would it be possible to install the English version as a dual boot system? If so, how would I go about activating it?

Any answers, thoughts or suggestions (providing they're clean!) appreciated.

Well you can install the english version on a seperate partition if you want. If you already have 2 partitions, just install english version on empty parition. If not use a tool such as parition magic pro (Around £50) to create a second partition and then install xp english.
To be honest i dont think its work the hassel and if you dont have a major problem with the french version, just keep it.
Hope it helps
Vish

Thanks Vish_555 - still thinking about it.
I don't have a major issue with the french version, but feel I would prefer a one language setup.

It's a good tutorial on how to install fresh xp.
Hope it Helps and Good luck.

P.S. If you do reinstall, make sure you have EVERYTHING backed up (I Forgot lol) and ensure you have all the software you want on it.(E.g MS Word, Excel, Nero etc).

Thanks again Vish_555.
Interesting article. Think I'll probably go for a clean install. I do have backups of all my programmes (and registrations) so re-installing them shouldn't be much of a hassle.

One other point, make sure you have all your drivers, especially the motherboard drivers, they have a habit of going missing on a Clean Install.

Cheers
