Sound Probs..

A few days ago.. Total Security deleted n rearranged files n stuff on my pc.
I deleted that spyware & now i have no sound O_o. In Device manager, nothing shows up, & in "Sounds & Audio devices"it says "No Device" & It shows no hardware dealing with sound. Also, when i click on "add hardware", nothing happens..
Can anyone help me out??

Also..
My adapter-thingy is : Intel 82801DB (M) ICH4 (-M) - AC'97 Audio Controller

What happens when in device manager you right click my computer and scan for hardware changes.
You may need to download and install the driver software manually before it will show up again

Need more info, make ,model or motherboard if not sure get Belarc, copy and paste the report but leave out the win update section and the Software Licence section it gives your Win Product code

Soundmax audio driver here at Compac http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport...&swEnvOID=1093

Set a System Restore Point before installing any drivers just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore – click radio button Create a restore point and follow instructions
