Restoring dual boot for Win 98/XP

I have my hard drive in 2 partitions. C: Windows 98 SE and D: Windows XP pro. I have recently had to format drive C: I have re-installed Windows 98. How can I restore the MBR files and dual boot menu so that I can boot my XP partition? I have tried Paragon Boot Manager and still cannot boot my XP partition. Any ideas without re-installing XP?

You should be able to use the fix mbr and fixboot commands to get XP booting. And you could also try copying the ntldr and ntdetect.com files to your xp os and Paragon boot loader may be able to boot it for you. Here is more info.http://www.computing.net/windowsxp/w...rum/66732.html

Thanks very much for your help. I now have my boot menu back. I did have to run fixboot in the end, but not fixmbr.
