ok heres the problem. when i boot up my computer, it takes me to a dos screen that says
there has been a hardware or software change were sorry for this inconvenience.
then when i choose safe mode it freezes. then when i choose every other option it freezes. on safe mode it always stops on
/system.log
so then when i put the
windows xp professional disc in to reboot it most times it will freeze too. but when it works everything loads fine then when i get ready to install when it starts loading windows it leads me to an error message that reads something like this
windows has shut down due to an error
REGISTRY_ERROR
......
and i ran a diagnostics on the harddrive and it passed.
so now im lost because DELL told me i can try using a different disc to repair installation then put my disc back in and run setup again and it should work fine. and it doesnt have to be a DELL disc he said.
now my question is this.....WHAT DO I DO?!!! IM FREAKING OUT PEOPLE!!!
lol just kidding but seriously
plus does it have to be a
Windows XP ProfessionalDisc or can it be a
Windows XP Home Disc even?
Please Reply fast. im stuck and dont know what to do.
and i found this website but it doesnt explain the whole
REGISTRY_ERROR part. so what do i do?
