The gateway is a T-Series that originally comes with Vista, but it's having some MAJOR issues like a hard disk 4 failure and some other thing like that, I have 3 versions of XP on this laptop and I am not sure why, I use the first one that comes up on a list that it asks me to choose from, once I get into that it acts like it's suppose to, I don't think there's any 'real' hard disk failure since it's been like this forever, I got it for free though, and I'm still having some issues with it. I use Direct10 for games and stuff, and that seems to work very well, I just need sound and internet connections.
Under the tab (Device Manager) "Other Devices" everything is marked with the Yellow "?" and "!". I just need the drivers for the devices I have,
Under the "Sound, video and game controllers" tab I have Audio Codecs, Legacy Audio Drivers, Legacy Video Capture Devices, Media Control Devices, and Video Codecs in that order. It says it's working properly but I still don't get sound from my games.
Here's some additional information if needed.
System Model: T-1631
OS: XP Pro (5.1, Build 2600)
DirectX Version: DirectX 10.0 (4.10.0000.180000)
I've been looking everywhere for the drivers for my internet and sound so anyone that can help point me in the right direction that would be great, thanks!

one way to find out what drivers you need is to use the Win Update - select Custom and look in left pane for hardware it should list what drivers are missing. Wireless and Lan are Realtek, so if you find what they are you can get them from realtek
this model from gateway has the same audio as yours and has drivers for XP

This driver needs the Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture to be installed for it to work
check this
Right click My Computer > Properties > Hardware tab > Device Manager
System Devices / Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture should be installed
if not installed get it here

install - Restart comp - then install audio
Set a System Restore Point before installing any drivers just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore – click radio button Create a restore point and follow instructions
