Can't access router settings - SIEMENS SL2-141

Hello
I hope this is the right place
I have bought a SIMENS SL2-141 ADSL WLAN Router

I connected it to the DSL and to the POWER and the computer but can't access the http://192.168.1.1

The manual says I should use automatic IP address which I did

I tried to access the Router wirelessly and also couldn't reach the control panel of it

any tips/ideas on how to solve this problem ?
Thanks in advance

Well are you sure that is right address...???

It may be what the manufacturer offers but it is easily changed!

Open a DOS box (Run CMD) then IPCONFIG /ALL and look at YOUR ADDRESS and the ROUTER ADDRESS

or............reset the router to MANUFACTURERS DEFAULT and start again loading your internet access name and password etc

If all of that fails start looking deeper at the hardware.

Good Luck

Well if you are in Australia then it may well have been set up by someone enamored with TELSTRA...they use 10.0.0.138 as their default setup.

No idea why anyone would change but isn't that what humans are for....to complicate things.

Maybe someone preferred the alternate public IP bracket even

As long as the problem is solved the world is a happier place.

Good Luck
