How do I install XP home over XP pro?

I have recently purchased a copy of Windows XP Home and would like to install it on my computer. The problem is that I already have a copy of Windows XP Pro on my computer, which I do not want. My question is this - how do I install XP Home over XP Professional without loosing all my programs, settings, documents, etc.?

According to this upgrade chart, you can't do an upgrade from Pro to Home. It looks like you'll have to backup all of your stuff and do a clean install of XP Home.

Another idea is to install Home in a dual boot configuration.

why would you want to essentially downgrade to xp home. XP pro is much more secure has more advanced features and you have more control over the whole system.

They are the same OS what home has pro has but pro has more to offer than home.
