Shell_NotifyIcon NIM_ADD failed

I repeatedly receive the following message:
"Shell-NotifyIcon NIM_ADD failed"
About 3 weeks ago I was searching the newsgroups and
found the solution. The author recommended that I go into
my registry and delete SOMETHING--I can't remember what.
It worked. Can anyone help me find that message?
Please note: I do not have a UMAX scanner nor have I downloaded Weatherbug?
