how to remove start button in XP?

I know there are programs out there that do this, they either have to be run (i prefer not to use up memory), are complicated to use, or don't work at all. I would like a program that can be run as a service to hide the start button without hogging as much memory or possibly none at all.

I have already tried the some programs. i did a search "remove the start button" on google and i found these:

"Start Killer 2.2" - has to be run at start-up and in use to hide button
"Hook99" - does everything but HIDE the button; it only disables it
"KillStart 1.07" - does nothing; reg file does nothing
"Disable" - needs Novell Application Launcher?; doesn't work
"Tookbar Hook 1.0" - how do you use this?

Are there any solutions or tips on how to use the last three programs correctly or a different method alltogether?

yep, but that's a pretty cool program. i only wish it would cause open programs to fill up the bottom space. another idea behind it is to prevent little kids from messing with the taskbar.

Cool

You cane hide the task bar, but I suspect the kids would find it.
