What the hell is goin on? (defragmenting)

Hey, I just formatted because of 100% cpu usage problems and now when I defrag, for some reason my drive immediately starts fragmenting afterwards.

I use Diskeeper and have been using it for some time and this has never happened before. You would expect it if I was adding/deleting and moving files or playin any games, but this happens when doing absolutely nothing! Not surfin or anything. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Diskeeper and no viruses or spyware; searched with Norton, Trojan Remover, BPS Spyware Remover and Adaware.

Here are three screenshots (sorry, imagestation shrink em down) a few hours apart when doing absolutely nothing and you can compare them:

It keeps getting worse till I defrag once more and then the process starts all over again. Every few hours when I analyze, Diskeeper will say my drive is heavily fragmented. There is no disc activity either. I formatted about 1 1/2 weeks ago and it's been like this since the beginning.

AMD 750, 512 ram, GeForce 2 and XP Pro.

Any thoughts on what the hell is goin on and any suggestions besides formatting again?

Are you on a network (LAN or Broadband)?

Open Task Manager > Processes ... see if there is anything on the list that could be writing to the disk.

Run Check Disk to check for discrepancies on your drive.
