well, i just recently set up a lan between my 2 computers with 2 ethernet cards and a crossover cable. So far so good, i can file browse both computer play lan games, and share media devices.

my computer is a windows xp machine and i'd like to have full administration rights, how do i go about this?

the other computer is a windows 98 machine.

On the windows xp machine, you have to create an administrative account that has the EXACT SAME username and password as the default user on the windows 98 machine. That way, when the 98 machine gives that info to the XP machine, the xp machine thinks it is an administrator.

I know this works because we have done it on several win2000/98 mixed networks.
