Question Quick SP1a Question

This will sound stupid, but what kind of icon does the XP SP1a (network package 125 meg version) have?

I used a "download manager" to get it and it has corrupted files in the past. Most MS installation packages have that "open box infront of an explorer window" icon, but my recent download only has that "plain vanilla blank explorer window" icon that a DOS .exe file has.

I'm just reluctant to install an OS update if it is corrupted somewhere along the way.

PS: The file is the correct file size, but "Fresh Download" has uh, "filled in the blanks" (made last half of a file blank and said download was 100% complete, ha!) before if it cannot successfully reconnect to the file's local server, so the file looks complete but isn't.

Well maybe this wasn't so "quick" a question

Gee Drek. I would not try to install sp1 either if the download was suspect. Maybe its time to loose Fresh Downloader? Of course, if you spent several hours downloading sp1 via dialup, I understand your frustration.

Cool

I only use Fresh Download 'cause its free, has no ad banners, and no spyware. Just a CLEAN program, the downside is, I guess there's bound to be bugs, when they're coding something for nothing

It's only done it (screwed up files) a few times and I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what the SP1a package's icon (if any) looked like.

I agree with beeboy. I wouldn't install that download. You might want to consider installing from a CD, although, it will cost you U.S. $9.95 or CDN $14.95. The alternative is trying it again without the Download Manager.
