Question Three questions

Hi There,

This is my first post.

I have three questions to ask, I thought that I would put them together, as I was not sure where to post them individually.

1. I have a new pc, with XP Pro, and the shutdown time is 30 seconds, and the startup time (to desktop) is approx 40-50 seconds. Is this normal, or slow? If slow, should I run BootVIS, and/or SP1?

2. What do you think of the SP1? Is it worth running?

3.What do you think of Boot VIS? Is it worth running?

I know it was more than three questions:

My pc specs are:

GIGABYTE 7AVT600
AMD XP 2600+
512MB DDR RAM
80GB 7200RPM HDD etc

Thanks,
Jase

Your boot and shutdown times seem reasonable. They both depend on the driver/hardware package installed. There are a few services that most people do not need running that can be disabled, but that is a case by case situation.

SP1 fixed a bunch of bugs. It's worth installing. They also incorporated some pirated CD keys that will disable a pirated code copy after install or SP1 will not install at all.

Never seen a real need to run Bootvis. Only for troubleshooting.
