Angry Windows XP & Nvida RIVA TNT2 M64 problems

Hello!
I need some help with this:
I have an Nvidia riva TNT2 M64 graphic card that works perfectly in Windows 98, but
recently i install windows XP, and then the problems start. I have a P III 667 mhz
processor, 387 MB in RAM, my motherboard is Tekram S3 PRO A serie and a SoundBlaster
Audigy mp3 sound card. When i try to open a video file (.mpg, .mpeg, .asf, .avi,
etc...) my pc gets freezed and after a little bit (15-20 seconds) appears a blue
screen very fast (i never can read what it says) and the pc gets restarted, and when
it reestarts appears an error report that says ''your pc has recovered for a serious
problem...'' and when i click ''see error report'', it says that the problem was
caused by the video card and the drivers. I try actualizing the drivers for this
video card, but it seems that it didn't solved the problem. This error only appears
when i try to open a video file. Does anybody know how can i fix this problem? Thanks
a lot!!!

Try to open video file in other player. If you're using Windows Media Player, try changing "video acceleration" value in program options.

my mate had a similar problem to you with his TNT2 M64 card in both 98 and XP. under the windows media player, real player & quick time he would get the same thing as you, but under DivX he had no problems. You should get the new drivers and possibly a flash for the video bios as this may help. check out nvidia site @ www.nvidia.com hope this info is of use to you.
