Quicklaunch toolbar makes taskbar double in size

Running XP Home edition

Taskbar looks fine without the quicklaunch toolbar.

When you add the quicklaunch toolbar, the taskbar is double in height, with the quicklaunch icons on the top half, and the programs open in the bottom half.

Using the mouse pointer to try to drag it to normal size will only work to make it a thin line, not normal size.

Toolbar is NOT locked, by the way.

I work at two different companies. The one I'm at today also has XP, and the quicklaunch icons are directly to the left of the open programs.
