Lost Administrator Password - PLEASE help!

Yesterday I bought my new Dell PC. I have one administrator (me) and 3 other Limited accounts. But stupid me, I forgot my admistristrator password.

I don't know what to do, the Limited accounts don't allow you to install anything, and all I have now is AOL and Microsoft Works!

I'm not a computer genius, but I know quite a lot, so could anyone please give me instructions on how to fix this problem and I'd be truly greatful.

Since you have a new system, re-install XP. Call Del first and they will walk you through the process since the computer is under warranty. Once you re-install XP it will clear the old info out. Write down your PW and if necessary, put it on a sticker and put the sticker under the computer where no one will know it's there but you.

you could use a software called Winternals Administrative Pack , this software has a module called "locksmith" and that's what you are looking for (please remember that only version 2003 has the proper locksmith for Windows XP.
