Remote Desktop Connection

Hi,
I just installed Windows XP Pro on my laptop. One of the reasons i installed it was because i wanted to be able to access my computer from other computers using the Remote Desktop Connection. So, anyway, I tried that today and it's all good except i can't log in, meaning i can't use my laptop from my desktop. I just wanted to try it out for when i really need to use it (at work). But when i enter my computer name on my desktop in the Remote Desktop Connection program, I connect and then it asks me for my username and password. What does that mean? I entered my name (for username), Erik, and i never setup a password so i left it blank. Then when i tried to connect it said please check the username, password, and domain and make sure they are correct.

Please help me. I really need the Remote Desktop Connection to work.

Thank You!!!

When using remote desktop, the account that you are logging into IS REQUIRED to have a password. Microsoft did that for simple security reasons, otherwise anybody in this cruel world could log into it.

You also have to add your user account to the Remote Users group.

Right click My Computer/Properties/Remote tab/Select Remote users button/Add button.

Then type in your user account name and the OK out.
