Win XP boot loop

I have a MicronPC Transport T2200 laptop running XP Pro with a 1.6GHz Pentium M Processor and 512MB RAM. With no hardware or software changes recently made to the laptop on boot-up it continually restarts after the Windows XP splash screen appears. Before it restarts a very brief BSOD appears and from what I can see is that it states an boot volume error.

It restarts when I attempt to go into any of the Safe Mode options, Last Known Good Configuration, Start Windows Normally and also when I choose the recovery option (R) when I boot using the OS CD.

What can I do to try to recover from this boot volume errror?

Thank you for looking.

Thanks bookworm for the link. When I follow the instructions on the link I get an option to format the hard drive before the OS is reloaded. At this time I prefer not to format the hard drive.

Hopefully I can find a way to boot to the hard drive and fix the problem that way.

Take a look at this, a Repair Install but with more booting options. http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

Hope this helps
