Paritioned HD, XP and Runtime Errors

I've got a 120 GIG HD paritioned into 5 sections. I have XP running on the smallest partion, C:, which is 4 GIGS. For the longest time the C: was hovering around @ 3.1 GIGS occupied with XP installed...I had about 800 megs available in this partion...However recently it's jumped up unexplainably to 3.9 GIGs...I now have 80 megs free on this drive....I've run Spybot, done virus check, disk clean up etc.....Are there any other files on an XP drive that I can delete safely? What about "ServicePackFiles" and dir in my Windows folder? The simplest solution is a reformat...but I'd rather not have to resort to that if it can be helped....Any help would be truly appreciated....

Another thing what's with these runtime errors I sometimes get in IE when surfing? I get the same error on my other comp...I get ask to debug etc...

I would refrain from deleting files in your window's folder. Disk cleanup should be getting most everything. Do you have everything checked when you run it? You can purge old system restore points and check your browser/s cache. IE and other browsers will use a lot of space for history, cookies, cache. 4 gigs for xp and programs is too small. I'm running 7 gigs and I have 1 gig free space left. And I do not have any large office suites or the likes. If you can beg, borrow, or buy Partition Magic 8, you could resize C with no data loss.

System Restore

How do I purge restore points?....I only have 80 megs left on my C:. Partion magic I could resize C: while taking a little off another partioned this would be the best...I thought 4 gigs would be enough for XP OS.....but I guess it isn't....

Go to > start > control panel > system > system restore> disable system restore. Just shut it down and reboot. All restore points will be purged. You have 120 gigs. Simply downsize your data partition creating free space and then allocate that free space to C. For your debugging problem go to > start > control panel > internet options > advanced > check - disable script debugging > uncheck - notify about every script error.
