small network problem

Hello,
I'm in the process of trying to get two Windows XP machines networked together so I can pull a file off my laptop onto my desktop. The Network Setup wizard goes ok and I can see laptop in My Network Places, but when I go to get the shared file off of it, I am asked for a password. The laptop has no password configured, and on my desktop I am logged in as administrator, so i shouldn't have any problems, but I do. Please help!

I can access my desktop from the laptop, but not the other way around if that helps. Please someone answer, it's kinda urgent

Use the laptop to move the file to the desktop.

In the User Accounts on the laptop create a new account for the Desktop.

thanx alot, I don't have the laptop anymore(it was my bros work machine), but when I get it back I'll be sure to do that
