Exclamation Win XP Installation Problems

I was trying to install XP on a formatted hard drive with only Dos but it wouldn`t install, so i reinstalled win98 and inserted the XP CD and i got to the autorun screen, i chose to do a clean install(which is sopposed to format your harddrive first isn`t it)and it didn`t format and now i have windows 98 and XP on one computer but win 98 doesn`t start and it is taking up to much space. I don`t know how to get windows XP to install only without windows 98 bing on the computer.

If you can understand what my problem is, plz help me!!!

Clean install means install windows on a blank (formatted) hard drive.

if your windows xp cd is bootable u can format and install windows right from the windows xp cd and u dont even need a floppy

also u cant install windows xp using that windows 98/me startup disk.

if u need help installing windows xp on your formatted hard drive conact me on AIM at FullFledgedCrip

That's what I did..

1. format ur hard drive

2. pounch Del key when you restart.... geting into COMS... choose Advanced BIO Setting ( or something similar... not quite remeber what it is exactly ) make it first bootup from CD-ROM

3.exit the COMS, and stick in ur WinXP CD.... and there you go~~

that`s what i tried in the first place, but in dos, it does not recognize my cd-rom drives. I can type D:\ or E:\(MY DRIVE LETTERS) and it says Invalid Drive Specification.

Anyone know why, do i need some dos drivers or something
