I'm not so sure if this has worked for anyone else but it didn't for me let me explain. I tried as you said by deleting any files such as these, as it was I only found lowerfilters in that specified file, can't remeber if it was lowerfilters or lowerfilters.bak. Although I didn't have exclamation marks in device manager next to any points concerning audio devices, or any other for that matter, before I did this, as mentioned in my earlier post everything was running fine and enabled although i didn't specify that there were no exclamation marks in device manager. I stilll did as you said and deleted that single file, after that i couldn't access windows media player or even the internet , the programs wouldn't respond. I restarted my comp and after getting alot of blue screens in a row I managed to find a restore point through safe mode. My point is that little advice nearly destroyed my computer, as I don't know much about computers I wouldn't use commands like these

again

. Anyhows the sound problem was basically that my sound card was broke, I found this out by first testing my speakers elsewhere, then removing my sound card and placing speaker connection into my intergrated audio, this is the basic audio points that most pc's have anyway without soud cards I think, and I got sound. I hope this has helped anyone else in the same circumstance and thanks to everyone who tried to help
