Angry Yahoo Messenger unable to connect

Please feel free to express your superior PC skills to one not so blessed. I have been unable to sign onto my Yahoo Messenger acct. ever since my ISP, sbcyahoo dsl, accidently did away with my mail acct. when I merged from dialup to dsl. a manager yesterday at dsl was able to reinstate my original ID, & I had previously uninstalled msngr. several times to try to figure out the problem myself. Then I was told by a support rep. that the name had been erased 7/30. now that I can access that ID automatically, everything is back to normal except Yahoo Messenger. Previously I could access my other yahoo ID's on messenger, but now it just says not connected. but I am online at the time with dsl. I simply love my dsl, able to download everything at about 1 meg every 30-40 seconds. as compared to 56k taking up to hours to download really large files. such as MSoft updates. Please help me. I have disabled my virus/did nothing to allow me to connect. I have disabled my firewall/did nothing to help. I have tried selecting all the options for different connections on msngr./nothing changed. And yet if I select 98SE upon reboot (I have both installed through partition magic) everything workds fine, except now I cannot access my emails directly through msngr. I get the email notification, but when I click on the icon an error message pops up saying something about reset cookies and is 10 miles long in length. I tried with this problem to go to my email directly to set a cookie on the pc, but it does not eliminate the error msg. "JUST CALL ME MIFFED & CONFUSED" !!!

Yahoo Messenger

Hi:
Have you reconfigured your YMsngr account for DSL instead of Dial-Up?

setting up ym for dsl - not dial-up

Larry, when a person is online, & downloads ym, there is no place for settings..............it just loads onto the pc & appears on the desktop. please tell me exactly what to do to start at the beginning & get ym set properly for dsl, if that appears to be the problem.....Barry

yahoo messenger

I am sorry Barry, that's all I can think of. I also use scb yahoo dsl, I haven't had any problems with it, I also use MSN Messenger, and Outlook Express with pop to sbcglobal and yahoo, so all I hav to do is open outlook and receive my mail.
