I assume you are talking about Windows XP, right ? Short answer is, you can 'all-but' disable it.

The registry entry 'DisablePagingExecutive' stops user/kernel mode drivers, and kernel mode system code from being paged out to disk. This can OS performance/response, but only marginally.

Are you short of disk space? Or are you trying to increase the performance ?

Both things

In theory I have installed a program, O&O Clever Cache v6.0.2494 , that should do it, but the option reset on OS restart...

I reinstalled CleverCache and it seems to work now. Excuse me for not trying it before

Anyway disabling the kernel swapping could cause some problems?
