Install Windows Bootloader on D: instead of C:

Hello!

I've these partitions:
C: with Win98 and
D: with WinXP.

Because of that Windows XP installs its bootloader with the needed files:
BOOT.INI
ntldr and
NTDETECT.COM
in the superblock of C:

I've tried to copy the first 512 bytes from C: to D: but this makes the files on D: unreadable.

Is there a way to install the Windows bootloader on D: instead of C: ???

cya,
Lukas
