Question Burning audio CDs under windows XP

Hi,

I have tried all sorts of recording software under Windows XP. Nero, RecordNOW max, CloneCD, roxio, etc. They are all successful in burning data CDs and I have never had a failure with these. I have a Philips writer/rewrite drive.

However, when I try to burn audio CD's none of the software utilities work. They start the burning process but then they crash along the way. To burn audio CDs under Windows XP I have to use the Windows Media Player which on the other hand works every time. Unfortunately it does not have the features I am looking for!

Does anyone know why Windows Media Player is working while other tools don't? What can I do to make other software work for audio recording??? Anyone else out there with similar problems?

Thanks for your reply,
Best regards
Troels

try disabling xp's built in burning capabilities, go to control panel, admin. tools, services. scroll down until you see "IMAPI cd burning com service". highlight it and in the left hand pane choose "stop the service" Close everything and reboot, then try one of your other burning programs.

hope this helps.

Exclamation Re: Burning audio CDs under windows XP

dear Troles,

What Philips CDRW are you using and what is the driver you are using for XP?

Mine was working under windows ME but has now stopped writing completely since changing over to XP.

Regards,
