Unhappy Reducing number of User Names

I just got a Dell laptop with Windows XP Professional on it. I'm the only one who is going to be using the laptop, but because of XP's user settings, there are different folders for me, the administrator, and the shared folders. For example, if I save a document under My Documents, it can be saved in the My Documents folder under either my screen name, the administrator, or the shared folders. This is quite confusing so is there a way to have only one user? Can I safely delete my screen name and in the process get rid of Shared Folders? thank you.

you have to lean nmore about Window XP and it's security setting, to make it easy to yourself, creat a folder under C:\ drive and save all you file in there instead of saving it under your profile. Usually everyone (every account has a profile with its own My Document which made the XP a bit confusing for you.

I hope that helps.

cheers
