I hope I will find some help here...

Helo...I just installed windows xp professional on my pc ( AMD-XP1800,512ram,GeForce 2 GTS ). Everything is OK , unless one big problem. So , I set my monitor(Sony 17") to run in 1024*768 @ 85 Hz , 16 bit colour, but when i try to play ANY game ( ut2k3 , Counter Strike , Q3 , etc) , my monitor turns in 60 Hz refresh rate, no matter what refresh was set in Windows (85 , 100 , 120). I was try to use a lot of drivers, but i can`t solve that issue. So , if anybody can help me , thank you very much. i`m not a newbie in pc`s , but this problem is bigger than my knowledges

This problem is remeded by downloading a refresh rate fix program. Here's a link.

Also if you turn off v-sync in your graphics cards properties that is meant to fix the problem as well, but some people have reported some strange happenings when they have done this. But then plenty of people have said it works.

Hope this helps you.
