XP-Speach Recognition Problems

I currently have XP Professional and as I understand is that there is a built in speech Recognition software built in. I have found the control panel to activate this software but the S.A.M. engine does not seem to work. I have looked up how to resolve this issue and Microsoft implies that i need a new engine? This I too have looked for and came up short. Anyone with this knowledge please respond.

I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for,

A speech engine is included as part of Office XP. (Probably Office 2000 as well)
All you have is the control panel.
There are others on the internet if you are willing to spend some time testing, but if you've got office.. Use that
