XP Problems

Here is the thing. I am gonna give my pc specs first incase it has anything to do with my problem.

I have:
Abit KR7A-RAID motherboard
AMD XP1900+ processor
Radeon 8500 Video card
Creative Soundblaster 16 sound card
some 15 gig WD Caviar hard drive
and a superdisk drive that uses and IDE port.

I just installed Windows XP on it but for some reason during installation I kept getting the "blue screen of death" giving me the error "0x0000007B (0xf898963C, 0xc0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)" and when it said something about a boot sector virus may be there and to run chkdsk /f and try to fix it. Well what is funny is I unhooked my superdisk drive and took the hd off the RAID port(not a raid setup) and put it on the regular IDE port and the setup finally went through. Now that I have windows installed, if I try to put it back on those ports, it gives me the blue screen. Is there a way I can put it on those ports and have XP work? Plz let me know. Thank you

and Now what is even worse, is if I try to change it back now, I dont even get the blue screen, my computer just shuts down. What could be the cause and solutions to this? I have even tried putting my superdisk and hdd on the same cable and running it to a regular IDE port and nothing works It restarts. Please someone help me, without this I have no floppy drive Please help.

well first of all raid aint for a single hard drive, so dont even bother to use raid ports!!! STAY WITH YOUR REGULAR IDE!!!

well since you dont got a floppy drive only thing i can think of is that u clean install windows xp again from the cd and after u get it installed and running get norton anti-virus 2003 and scan your hard drive for viruses.

I know about RAID setups but I had Windows 98 running on this computer before upgrading and the 98 setup let me run the hard drive on the RAID port with no problem. Plus this floppy is a superdisk drive and takes up an IDE port as well. Any other suggestions? Any help is appreciated. Plus I wouldnt think I have a virus because its only when I go to the RAID ports that i get the problem. Running off the regular IDE's it works fine.

well just run it from tha regular IDE ports PROBLEM SOLVED!!!

also if you only got one cd-rom/dvd-rom/cd-rw drive in your pc just hook both your cd-rom and super disk thing to one and your hard drive on tha other ide port

I knew I could solve that problem. The problem I was wanting to solve was to be able to put the hard drive back on the RAID IDE port. Is there any way to fix that to where Windows wont freeze when I do it?
