Nero 6: burning audio

i'm having difficulty burning any audio on CD-Rs. everytime i burn a soundtrack, the result is scratches mixed in with the audio.

i can burn the cd, it's just when i listen to it, there's scratches every second for the entire cd. what causes this and how can i burn a cd without any scrathes?

There could be a dozen reasons.

This is a Windows XP forum. You would probably have better results posting in a forum for audiophiles, or a NERO forum.
