Cannot Delete Outbox Messages

I cannot delete the messages in my Outbox.
I was sending messages with Zip attachments and they were
interupted.
I have tried all the ways of normal deletion. They go to Deletion
box but remain in Outbox.
I have even tried changing the messages and removing attachments
The old messages remain and I just create new ones.
Whenever I open Outlook 6 or connect to Internet they start
sending again till I stop them.
The original messages were sent I beleive.
Windows XP with all updates.Outllook 6, 512 Ram ,80GB HD.
Pentium 4, 2.4.

Have to tried rebooting, then trying to delete them?

On the same Toolbar line as your Address field you'll find 8 icons. The 8th icon is for "Permanently deleting messages in the "deleted items" folder.

just wanted to admire what "ESALADUANE" has done to solve the problem (that is lots of work to solve one issue)
